| Descr: | CRT was formed by merging the four elevated lines in Chicago: the Northwestern, Metropolitan-West Side, Lake Street, and South Side. It ran the elevated system until in 1947 the elevated, streetcar, and bus systems of the city were all merged into the publicly-owned Chicago Transit Authority.
