| The
New Haven RR line between New Britain and Berlin was electrified
in 1896 with a 600 volt DC third rail. Trolley wire replaced
the third rail in 1906. Local trolleys in "Hardware City"
and the line to Plainville were gone by 1936, but cars from
Hartford and Newington continued running until 1937.
