The Southern New England Telecommunications Corporation and the Connecticut League of History Organizations have funded a new online exhibit. Developed jointly by the Shore Line Trolley Museum, The Connecticut Trolley Museum, and East Haven High School, the exhibit, entitled Trolley Towns: Connecticut, is a web space that allows virtual visitors to explore the history of trolley service in their Connecticut home town.

East Haven High School's computer technology department leader Jim Schroeder selected two of his best students, Mark Bendel and Sean O'Brien, to develop the piece, based on an earlier Macintosh/Hypercard project already in use at the Shore Line Trolley Museum's Sprague Visitor Center. Both students were awarded college scholarship vouchers for their efforts.

Both museums recognize the growing importance of the World Wide Web as a tool for educational outreach. They appreciate the support of SNET and CLHO and look forward to further collaboration.

The new exhibit may be accessed at http://www.bera.org/ttowns.html.
