NRHS Grant for New Orleans Public Svc. 850

Our museum has been awarded a grant of $4,800 by the National Railway Historical Society (NRHS) for the completion of New Orleans Public Service car 850. The NRHS Railway Heritage Grants program supports worthy projects throughout the railway preservation field. We were selected as one of 12 awardees from a pool of nearly 60 applicants.

With this grant, combined with the previous contributions from our membership, we now have sufficient funding to complete work on the car and make it usable to carry visitors. Completion of the project is scheduled for July 2001. Our sincere thanks go to the NRHS and to our members for their support.
